Her Echo Spot device has been her lifestyle assistant, keeping her stay aligned with her morning routine and helping her track her daily movement and workout goals. For each workout, she uses Alexa to set timers or stream music for different workout moods. Practising yoga accompanies an ambient, relaxing soundtrack, while high-intensity workouts call for upbeat music, which creates the perfect ambience for training.
Emphasizing the significance of a well-planned routine to achieve one’s goals, Katie accredits her Echo Spot for helping her stay organized throughout her day. She believes in instilling small ways that can spark joy in the mornings, which she finds crucial in starting the day stronger. Alexa routines assist her in managing her mornings, like switching on the lights, notifying her about her schedule for the day and starting her preferred music playlist.
Katie proposes starting small for anyone planning to commence a new workout routine. She suggests that if a person is at a beginner’s level, they should not aim for intense workouts seven days a week. Rather, they should simplify it and make it less challenging. The key to following through with a fitness routine is treating it as a priority, just like one treats other aspects in their life. Scheduling the workouts and sticking to the plan is pivotal. If a workout routine becomes a part of the daily schedule, it will soon become natural to the person, just like muscle memory.
On helping people leading busy lives with fitting workout sessions into their day, Katie suggests some tips. Some of her suggestions include assigning a consistent time each day to exercise regardless of the workout duration, inviting friends to participate in active activities, and employing the help of technology like Amazon’s Alexa. While it’s not necessary to stick to traditional gym workouts every time, even activities like a 15-20 minute walk are beneficial for the heart and promote overall health.

Katie reinforces the fact that although it seems simple, walking plays a key role in maintaining good cardio health. Lately, Katie has been fond of strength training and Pilates workouts, as she introduced her ’21 Day Strengthen & Lengthen’ program in the Katie Austin App on September 16.
