At 39 years old, Kendrick is showcasing her versatility in Hollywood by stepping behind the camera and leading the film’s narrative.

Kendrick embodied the role of Cheryl Bradshaw, a bachelorette who found herself in the crosshairs of Rodney Alcala, a contestant who later gained notoriety as the Dating Game Killer. According to Kendrick, attempts to restrict intake of the foods she loved always backfired, resulting in misery. She valued being present in her body rather than depriving it.

Kendrick shared that she avoids dairy and alcohol roles where she needs to maintain her singing voice. While ditching alcohol was easy for her, avoiding dairy proved to be a real challenge. Even vegetables were cooked in butter, leading her to realize the difficulty that lactose intolerant people face.

Sleep is also fundamental in Kendrick’s wellness regimen. As she pointed out, lack of sufficient sleep took a toll on her appearance and voice. Despite her dislike for naps, she recognized the necessity of ample sleep.
